Participation
- Participation is only possible in teams consisting of 3 or 4 members.
- Changing the composition of a team is only possible with the permission and acknowledgement of the organising committee.
- A team will be allowed to compete in the IYPL only if at least 50% of the members are enrolled at a university within the territorial borders of India.
Selection of teams
- The standings and further selection of teams shall be decided and announced by the OC via Email.
- Depending on directions from IAPS, the organisation decides how many top teams from the preliminary (IYPL) shall be allowed to compete in PLANCKS. The organisation has the right to deny the participation of any team before the start of the exam if they have reasonable arguments to do so.
- For IYPL 2025, only the top team will qualify for the PLANCKS
Teams
- The winning team will participate in PLANCKS after paying the entry fee i.e €320(tentative) to TC India (AIPS). The TC India will pay this fee to the PLANCKS committee on behalf of the qualifying team.
- A student can only be a member of one single team.
Amount of prize money for PLANCKS will be announced officially by the IAPS.
Eligibility
- Only the students enrolled at a bachelor’s, master’s or dual-degree program can participate in the IYPL exam.
- Only members of IAPS LCs or IAPS TCs as well as IAPS individual members can participate in PLANCKS 2025. So, the members of the winning team would need to register with the AIPS as a member, in case they are not already registered.
- Membership of the TC is not necessary to participate in the IYPL. Nevertheless, selected teams are allowed to participate in PLANCKS if they agree to obtain said membership.
- If a selected team, for any reason whatsoever, refuses to or cannot obtain said membership and/or pay the entry fee, they shall not be eligible to participate in PLANCKS. In such cases, the next team in ranking will be selected.
Problems
- The paper will consist of both MCQ and subjective based questions which would belong from highly diverse topics of advanced physics.
- The MCQs section of the exam will have negative marking.
- The OC (organising committee) will ask the participants to upload their rough calculations sheets as a pdf at the end of the MCQs section.
- The OC (organising committee) has the right to change or withdraw problems during the contest. When this happens, the OC (organising committee) will inform all teams.
